Breast Cysts and Omega-3 Fatty Acids
Researchers at the Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland analyzed the levels of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) in red blood cells in more than 1600 women. EPA is a key Omega 3 fat found in fish oils. These researchers determined that women with the highest blood levels of EPA were 67% less likely to have benign breast cysts. Of much importance it was determined that women who did have breast cysts and a high level of EPA had a 49% lower risk of breast cancer.
