Is There a Limit to Longevity?

Life expectancy is continually increasing in the developed world. How far may it go? At Cambridge University in Great Britain geneticist Auberey de Grey believes that the human life span may be extended to 1,000 years.

De Grey explains that ageing is a physical phenomenon that occurs in our bodies. As modern medicine becomes more knowledgeable we can address and conquer ageing just as we have for many diseases today. Repair of all types of molecular and cellular damage is likely to be the key that will allow this to happen. It is believed that even persons who are 60 to 70 years of age today will have the opportunity to take advantage of the ultra anti-ageing methodology. De Grey believes that all major types of molecular and cellular damage will be repaired by future technology. He believes that there is no difference between saving lives and extending lives.
